NABF SafePlay Program

NABF is teaming up with SportsEngine to keep kids safe through a streamlined safety program that makes it easy for coaches and volunteers to complete required background screenings and abuse prevention training.

NABF, as a national member of USA Baseball, in response to the formulations of Senate Bill 534 (2017) and with the support of the US Center for SafeSport – Team USA, we have adopted the SafePlay Program which includes a background screen and abuse prevention training. Our goal is to create a clear culture of awareness to protect the participants in our sports, at all levels.

In partnership with the National Center for Safety Initiatives, LLC (NCSI), SportsEngine delivers the “Gold Standard” in background screening, protecting athletes and organizations by thoroughly investigating all subjects through a variety of national and local databases and search parameters.

SportsEngine has also partnered with Abuse Prevention Systems (APS) to offer comprehensive sexual abuse prevention training that fulfills the new Safe Sport Act requirements. Training topics include: facts and misconceptions, abuser characteristics, methods to reduce risk, and responsibility to report. You can learn more about the Safe Sport Act and why it matters on the SportsEngine Community.
